On the 03/04/2025, Unipower (Pvt) Ltd, partnership with Sampath Bank, carried out a meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility initiative in the farming village of Ratmale. This collaborative project was designed to support and uplift the local agricultural communities parallel to the tank rehabilitation projects done by Sampath bank.

Fifteen dedicated mushroom farmers from the area gathered for the event. These farmers, many of whom practicing basic methods of mushroom cultivation on small to medium-scale farms, were selected based on their active engagement in in the industry. Their commitment to produce high quality mushroom made them ideal beneficiaries of this sustainable initiative.

The program commenced with a brief but insightful awareness session led by technical officers from Unipower. Farmers were educated on the benefits of using insect-proof nets, including how they could integrate them into their current cultivation systems. Representatives from Sampath Bank took the opportunity to express their continuous support for agriculture-based CSR projects and encouraged farmers to adopt smart, sustainable farming practices.

This project not only helped in addressing a critical need in pest management but also strengthened the bond between the farming community and the private sector. It demonstrated the power of collaboration when agribusiness and financial institutions come together for a common objective of creating a better rural livelihood.
